The greatest risk of using technology is that designers may not be educators.  Quite often the designers are actually technical people with some business background or vice versa.  Professional trainers should always play a large part in the design phase of the project.

With information so readily available on the net, so is an abundance of useless information.  It is critical that designers update the content frequently and not forget what is out there.

As with any course design, a clear strategy must be created before the design phase.  Technical resources are very costly and a poorly planned design can create unexpected significant costs.
